Sabrina started complaining about stomach aches when she was 9 years old mostly after eating, The aches didn't last long then she would be fine, She was always active playing with her friends and her brother, When she was 10 years of age she would have stomach pain with diarrhea and alternating somewhat formed stools Concerned about this her parents decided it was time to have a specialist (gastroenterologist) they were referred to look at her, Sabrina was seen by one in July of 2010 and again in August of 2011, The doctor did examination's discussed the possibilities "Irritable bowel syndrome" "Celiac disease" and even "Crohns disease" was brought up to the parent's as well as other potential causes, He took blood and stool samples to be tested, Celiac disease was ruled out by the doctor, Sabrina and her parents never received any other definitive answer's to what could be causing her tummy aches from these test, Sabrina was also taken to see a Endocrinologist( Hormone growth and who diagnose diseases related to the glands) at Primary Children's Hospital in September of 2011, With once again no definitive answers, Sabrina's stomach pains after a while became less frequent or she had just become somewhat tolerant and use to them, She still had them occasionally but seemed to be doing better, She wasn't growing or gaining weight for an average teenager but she was happy, Full of life and playful as ever, Most of her fathers side of the family are on the smaller side and some on the mother's side are as well, Even though her parent's suspected something wasn't right they didn't know if she was just going to be really tiny, maturing much slower than usual or what?, Sabrina always had routine visit's to her pediatrician for check ups, In November 2014 Sabrina started having more severe stomach complaints, She didn't want to eat and would get up half way through a meal and use the bathroom when she did, After eating she would have cramp like pain and diarrhea, She also didn't have any energy and was always tired, On November 14th 2014 on her 15th Birthday she started throwing up a lot and became really sick an appointment was made with the same gastroenterologist as before, Sabrina was seen on Dec 5th 2014 an upper endoscopy with biopsies was performed on her at Primary Children's Hospital then she was sent home (?), Her mother was calling the doctor's office for days trying to find out what to do and for answer's, She was told something along the lines that Sabrina had yeast in her throat and/or stomach, Sabrina's father mentioned to her mom something about an ultra sound, Pictures or something to look at the inside of her, Sabrina's mother brought this up as well as swallowing a pill with a camera inside (wireless capsule endoscopy)to the GI doctor hoping this would help to find out what was wrong, The doctor never did recommend wireless capsule endoscopy, CT scans,MRI's or Ultra sound's on Sabrina, Her mother called Logan Regional Hospital and scheduled an appointment for an ultra sound December 15th 10 days after the endoscopy which revealed nothing of help (as far as the parent's knew at the time), The Ultra sound Impression was: Negative abdominal ultrasound,Non-visualization of the pancreas,(Note; A wireless capsule endoscopy, CT Scan or MRI would have shown the problem),(Sabrina's parents learned this later) Here again with no answers as to why she is so sick or what to do next from the GI doctor, On December 19th 2014 around 10:00am Sabrina collapsed at home and was rushed to the hospital by her mother, Sabrina's father was in North Dakota working at the time, Her mother placed a call to him and explained that Sabrina was in the Hospital, He immediately headed back to Utah for the hospital.
